Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using Permio's services. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
1. Services
Permio provides International Driving Permit (IDP) application processing and issuance services. We facilitate the preparation and issue of IDPs issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Our service includes document verification, permit production, and delivery (digital and/or physical).
2. Eligibility
To use our service you must hold a valid driving licence issued by your country of residence, be at least 18 years of age, have held your driving licence for at least the minimum period required by your home jurisdiction, and not be prohibited from holding or using a driving licence by any court or authority.
By submitting an application, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and truthful. Submitting false documents or information is a criminal offence in most jurisdictions and will result in immediate cancellation of your permit with no refund.
3. Pricing and Payment
Prices are displayed in USD at the time of application. Payment is taken in full at the point of application. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept all major credit and debit cards.
Prices shown are inclusive of digital delivery. Physical delivery is included in Priority and 3-Year Pass plans. Standard plan physical delivery is available as an optional add-on.
4. Refund Policy
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason (the "cooling-off period"). For digital services, this right applies provided that delivery or access has not yet begun with your express consent. For physical goods (e.g. printed IDP cards), you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the item.
If you wish to begin receiving the digital service before the 14-day cooling-off period expires, you must give your express consent and acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. This consent is requested during the application process.
Applications cancelled within 2 hours of submission are eligible for a full refund regardless of the above. Once document verification has begun (typically within 2–4 hours of submission), refunds are not available for completed applications. If we are unable to process your application due to our error or inability to verify your documents after multiple attempts, a full refund will be issued.
Refunds are not available on the basis that you did not use the permit, changed your travel plans, or were denied entry to a country for reasons unrelated to your IDP. IDPs are non-transferable and non-refundable once issued.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
5. Validity and Limitations
An IDP is not a standalone driving permit. It must always be carried alongside your original home driving licence. An IDP does not grant driving privileges in your home country. It is valid only in countries that are signatories to the relevant Geneva or Vienna Convention. It is the applicant's responsibility to verify that their destination country recognises IDPs from their country of licence.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Permio's service to obtain a permit using false or fraudulent documentation, attempt to obtain multiple simultaneous permits using different identities, transfer, sell, or allow another person to use your IDP, or use our service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your Permio account at any time via your Account Settings. Upon requesting deletion, your account will enter a 14-day grace period during which you may reverse the request by logging back in. After the grace period, your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted.
Please note that certain data retention obligations survive account deletion. In particular, records relating to issued International Driving Permits are retained for a minimum of 7 years from the date of issue, as required by applicable legal and regulatory obligations. This retained data is limited to what is necessary for compliance purposes and is not used for any other purpose.
8. Limitation of Liability
Permio is not liable for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences arising from driving abroad, including but not limited to driving without a valid local permit or IDP, violation of local traffic laws, or failure to comply with local driving requirements. Permio is not responsible for changes in IDP requirements by foreign governments, border authorities, or rental companies that occur after your permit is issued.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
